Boris Herbert Kleint (1903-1996)
Komposition No. 11
Oil on Linen
146 x 97 cm
Boris Kleint’s (1903-1996) oil on linen abstract painting, entitled Komposition from 1939 is a dynamic, yet playful, concrete composition in which rectangles, triangles, spheres and hemispheres in various sizes become satellites that activate a central image of three interlocking tondos floating in space. A range of warm sepias and reds dominate a design influenced by Wassily Kandinsky’s geometric paintings from the late 1920s and 30s based on his theoretical treatise Point and Line to Plane.
